Three General Categories to MMT's Work
Jeff Tanguay, CEO, founder, and lead instructor of Moetus Medical Training (MMT), began his medical career in 2003. With two clinical doctoral degrees in anesthesia and hospital pharmacology, and a nursing background in emergency medicine and intensive care, he has extensive experience that spans multiple fields of medicine. Jeff is a fully accredited American Heart Association Instructor in Nepal for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) and trains for certification through an urban training center. The three categories of MMT's work are described below.
General Training
- MMT offers training courses for the general public. These focus on basic life support, CPR, emergency stabilization and how to seek medical help.
- The target audience is typically staff members of schools, gyms, and community centers.
- These courses focus on knowledge and skills rather than certification, although BLS certification is optional.

Medical Personnel Training
- Moetus Medical Training (MMT) primarily focuses on Nepali medical professionals, such as physicians, nurses, anesthetists, and paramedics.
- MMT prioritizes remote hospitals and facilities that need on-location training.
- The general focus of training includes acute care medicine, patient triage and stabilization, airway management, mechanical ventilation, regional and general anesthesia, general case management, team dynamics, and ACLS and BLS. The application and mastery of these skills are emphasized.
- Remote area training focuses on advancing care capacity within the hospital as a whole rather than on individual certifications.
- Training is also conducted at an urban American Heart Association center with a focus on individual ACLS and BLS certification.
- MMT is working with organizations like Medical Education International (MEI) to send short-term medical specialists to remote hospitals for high-level skills training.
